FUNDING FOR STUDENTS TAKING HIGHSCHOOL LEVEL PROGRAMS
The Adult Basic Education Student Assistance Program (ABESAP) is designed for the adult learner who did not complete high school or who needs to review high school level academic skills before advancing to post-secondary level study. Students enrolled in the following programs of study qualify for ABESAP, based on the student’s current income level, are: • College Readiness • Bridging to Trades • Literacy • Employment Skills • English as a Second Language Students may be eligible for funding to cover tuition fees, student activity fees, lab fees, textbooks, supplies, daycare, equipment and transportation. It is at the discretion of the Financial and Academic Planner which of the allowable costs may be funded, dependent on the institutional ABESAP budget and determined need of the student. Recycling: Students would purchase books initially through ABESAP sponsorship. At the end of the semester, students are required to return the textbooks to the Financial and Academic Planner.
